Rescuing someone about to drown

Rescuing someone about to drown

Sometimes there are undesirable situations at sea and you have to help people. But this help is not as easy as it seems. Rescuing someone who is about to suffocate requires a lot of attention and experience. Helping when you see someone drowning in the sea is primarily a duty of humanity, and then it is one of the most important duties of every seafarer.

The drowning process proceeds extremely quickly. So much so that 20 to 30 seconds in adults and 1 minute in adults takes place at incredible times. It is therefore important to intervene as quickly as possible to the person who is currently drowning. In cases of suffocation, people usually die because of their inability to intervene in time.

The fluttering movements of the drowning person are often perceived as a joke and can be noticed late. In this process, it is very difficult for the victim to shout and make loud sounds because he will swallow water continuously.

If a person on the sea is doing the things below, it may indicate that he may be suffocating.

• The person's head is tilted backward

• Cannot shout or even make a sound with his mouth open

• The arms rest on the water but flutter unnecessarily too much

When you observe the above situations, you should think about the possibility of drowning and intervene immediately. You need to do this as quickly as possible but also as carefully as possible. Even the simplest mistake can cost both the survivor and your life.

When you come to the point where the victim's first consciousness will not be able to guide you because it will be quite difficult. The person to intervene must be the best swimmer on board. It should also intervene with the life jacket and the rope attached to the boat. If there is no good swimmer on board, the best move you can do is to extend something to the victim.

If more than one person is waiting to be rescued at sea, then what is needed is to tie a life rope to a rope and throw it to the area where the survivors are. It will be useful if you take a tour around people to hold onto the glass wheel. In such cases, it will not be right to try to get people out of the sea one by one. When the process of rescuing a drowning person takes place quickly and professionally, casualties can be prevented easily.
