İzmir, July 24, 2023 - Romania's proud military ship "Nava Scoala Mircea" has arrived in İzmir, one of the favorite port cities of the Aegean Sea. An enthusiastic ceremony was held in Izmir Port to welcome the ship.

The 82-meter-long, 12-meter-wide ship, which set off from Italy, arrived in Izmir in the morning, and Romania's Izmir Consul General Mioara Stefan and consular officials greeted the ship, accompanied by the Torbalı Municipality Band.

There are Romanian Naval Academy students and staff on board. As part of the annual training expeditions, young seafarers develop their maritime knowledge and skills and discover the beauties and difficulties of the seas.

It was seen that Nava Scoala Mircea, which anchored in Izmir Port, was accompanied by ships belonging to the Turkish Naval Forces. While the Turkish and Romanian flags were flying proudly in the sea with the effect of the wind, they symbolized friendship and cooperation.

In his statement about his visit to Izmir, the captain of the ship expressed his admiration for the hospitality of the Turkish people and the Aegean Sea, which is famous for its beautiful coasts. At the same time, he emphasized the importance of such educational trips that strengthen maritime relations between the two countries.

During Nava Scoala Mircea's visit to Izmir, it was announced that friendly matches and cultural events will be organized between Turkish and Romanian sailors and the ship can be visited by the public.
